Amerisur details Colombia drilling plans

Amerisur has outlined plans to spud Colombia's Miraparriba-1 well by midyear, as it targets new light oil in the Putumayo basin.

The plans hinge on approval from state oil company Ecopetrol, expected in the first quarter, Amerisur said in a filing with the London stock exchange on Tuesday.

Miraparriba-1 forms part of the Put-8 block, in which Amerisur holds a 50% stake alongside operator Vetra.

Meanwhile, Amerisur said environmental studies are underway for planned drilling of the Bienparado structure, to the west of Platanillo field. Additionally, the consortium aims to capture 112km2 of 3D seismic data at the Nyctybius prospect in the central part of the block.

The company's 2019 work program includes the first of six wells on the Coendu structure in Put 9 and Put 10, slated for the third quarter.

A minimum of four additional wells will be drilled on the Índico pad, part of the CPO-5 block in the Llanos basin, to determine the prospectivity of the area within the LS3 play, Amerisur added.

Amerisur said total production in the fourth quarter from the Platanillo and the Mariposa fields was 423,386b/d, with average daily production of 4,602b/d.
