UCOM-MHE-13-12-2022.- After seven years, the State, through Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), managed to exceed $3,000 million in income generated by exports only with the sale of natural gas to the markets of Argentina and Brazil, with a month to go until the end of the 2022 term, the Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energies, Franklin Molina Ortiz, reported on Tuesday.
"These figures show the effectiveness of the policies applied by the national government, from the recovery of democracy (November 2020), to reactivate the hydrocarbon sector and improve sales prices to the external market," said the authority.
The latest report from the state oil company indicates that the export of gas to the largest markets in the region —Brazil and Argentina— generated $3,027 million between January and November of this year.
This means that, only with the sale of gas, Bolivia has already generated higher income than those received from the export of all hydrocarbons in 2016 ($us1,951 million), 2017 ($us2,470.7 million), 2018 ($ us2,938.7 million), 2019 ($us2,599.7 million), 2020 ($us1,877 million) and 2021 ($us2,287.6 million).
Molina explained that the resources obtained from the external sales of energy contribute to the General State Treasury (TGE), to YPFB and contribute to oil income for the benefit of public universities, governorships and municipalities to carry out service, health, education, housing, employment and productive diversification.
"These revenues are the result of the laborious work carried out by the government, led by our President Luis Arce, to improve the quality of life of Bolivian families," added the minister.
