Brazil iron ore export revenues fall in March

Brazil's iron ore exports fell 49.9% year-on-year in March to US$1.39bn, according to foreign trade department Secex.

In terms of volume, iron ore shipments increased 8.7% to 30.8Mt. The average price dropped 53.9% to US$45.10/t.

However, flat-rolled steel exports jumped 138% to US$198mn, as volumes increased 243% to 312,400t. The average price fell 30.5% to US$632.60/t.

Exports of semi-manufactured iron and steel products rose 7.5% to US$248mn, with volumes increasing 30.4% to 575,600t and prices falling 17.5% to US$427.00/t.

Brazil's aluminum exports slumped 49.6% to US$34.5mn in March. Aluminum shipment volumes fell 54.8% to 16,500t, while prices increased 11.4% to US$2,089.30/t.
