São Paulo, October 25, 2022 – With its 5G strategy focused on an open and modular architecture, based on the best of breed concept, Logicalis has just made the first 5G call involving multiple vendors in Latin America.

Conducted at the company's laboratory, located in São Paulo, the call represents a milestone in attesting to the interoperability of the solutions and allowing the realization of demonstrations and proofs of concept for companies interested in building their 5G core structures with more than one supplier. “In general, networks that are in operation today are based on single-vendor architectures. Our proposal is to offer an interoperable multi-vendor architecture, which will help customers to democratize the core of their mobile network and, with that, have more flexibility and agility in the implementation of new services, accelerating their innovation journey and creating new business demands” , says Kan Wakabayashi, Logicalis' CTO for Latin America.

The first multi-vendor 5G call was supported by several Logicalis partners: Dell, Intel, Cisco, HPE, IBM, Red Hat and Oracle. “Although all the partners that worked with us in this endeavor follow the 3GPP standards and recommendations, the integration of multiple vendors is always challenging. Therefore, it is essential that customers have the support and support of a service company, acting from the conception of the network, implementation and even as support to the operation and maintenance”, explains Wakabayashi.

In addition to serving telecom operators looking for high-performance solutions for their customers, the architecture offered by Logicalis is also available for companies wishing to build their private 5G networks. “The speed of response and transmission of 5G, in addition to its ability to support a high volume of simultaneous accesses, open a new horizon for companies, enabling solutions that are not possible today, such as some IoT applications. This possibility explains why private 5G networks should gain traction in the coming years,” concludes Wakabayashi.
