Within the framework of the inauguration of the 9th Latin American Congress on Digital Transformation (CLTD2022), CAF - Development Bank of Latin America - and the Global System Association for Mobile Communications - GSMA signed a Memorandum of Understanding in order to promote the training of regulatory officials and authorities formulating public policies of the ICT sector in Latin America and the Caribbean.

This signature strengthens CAF's commitment to technological development in the region. Among the courses that will be taught to officials and authorities thanks to this firm will be: management for mobile services, internet of things, 5G, Big Data analysis, competition policies in the Digital Age, among others.

This can be materialized through training courses under different modalities in terms of regulation on issues of mobile policy and digital transformation; exploration of sustainable association models that allow the continuous delivery of training courses; promotion of activities; and exchange of information as necessary.

With the signing of the Memorandum, the relationship between CAF and the Global Association of the Mobile Ecosystem is strengthened, whose purpose is to unleash all the power of connectivity for the prosperity of society.

The long history of collaboration between the two institutions regarding the digital transformation of Latin America is also reinforced, since between 2015 and 2019 CAF, together with the GSMA and the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, guided the first steps of this joint initiative that provided free training to more than 600 legislators and regulators from all over Latin America on the latest technical advances and best policy practices in the digital sector.
