Colombia's Air-e seeking IDB Invest loan

Colombian electricity distributor Air-e is seeking an IDB Invest loan to support grid expansion and decarbonization projects.
Documents published on the lender's website show the Barranquilla-based company requested a US$37.5mn loan for initiatives that form part of its US$500mn 2021-25 investment plan.
IDB Invest, the private sector arm of the Inter-American Development Bank, is expected to decide whether to accept the proposed operation at a board meeting on June 30.
Documents submitted by Air-e include an environmental and social action plan, which can be seen here.
Air-e serves around 1.25mn consumers in the northern Colombian departments of Atlántico, La Guajira and Magdalena.
