Consorcio Hidroeléctrico Misicuni has submitted the only offer to special purpose company Misicuni to build a 120m-high dam for the Misicuni multi-purpose hydro project in Bolivia. Italian construction firm Grandi Lavori Fincosit leads the consortium that also includes Construcciones, Comercio e Industria, Empresa Constructora Vialpa, Empresa Change Consulting Grup Colombia, Empresa Gerencia de Contratos y Concesiones and Empresa Obras Especiales. Italy's government, the Andean Development Corporation and local funds will finance the dam's construction. The group submitted a bid of US$79.9mn, below the US$81mn reference price, local press reported. A decision is expected in the coming days. The 36-month contract includes the construction of a potable water plant, water pipelines and their respective pumping systems and an irrigation network. A subsequent phase envisions a power component which would boast 80MW. To this end, Bolivia's state power utility Ende and Seoul-based Korea Electric Power Corporation have signed an agreement to develop the hydro plant.
