Cuba to export 200,000t of stone per month to Mexico for Maya train
Cuba announced it will export 200,000t of limestone per month to Mexico's Yucatán peninsula for the construction of the Maya train project.
The operations manager of port services company Empresa de Servicios Portuarios del Centro, Andrés Díaz Guerrero, told Agencia Cubana de Noticias that the first shipment of 20,000 tons is being stored and is ready to be loaded at Cienfuegos port, part of the first 90,000 tons to be sent to Mexico during the first month.
The shipments will be gradually increased to 200,000t per month.
The material was produced at the Arriete stone quarry in Palmira municipality and transported by train to the port.
