Dell Technologies sees Brazil as priority market
Despite persistent economic weakness and political divisions, Brazil remains one of the key global markets for US IT infrastructure firm Dell Technologies.
“Brazil represents one of the key global markets for Dell Technologies and one of the few countries where the company maintains its own factory and offers the complete portfolio of solutions,” Luis Gonçalves, head of Dell Technologies Brazil, said in a statement.
Dell is completing 20 years of operation and manufacturing in Brazil. Founder Michael Dell was present at an event in São Paulo to celebrate the date.
The Brazilian factory, currently in Hortolândia, São Paulo metropolitan region, is the only plant in the region outside the US and ranks among the 10 largest worldwide in production volume.
In June this year, Dell said it reached the milestone of 15mn products manufactured in Brazil.
However, the entire production is aimed only to the local market, without any plans for exports.
The company is local leader in servers, storage, hyper-convergence, laptops and desktops.
Earlier this year, Gonçalves said the outlook was positive for 2019 but that it would also “depend on the government measures to prompt companies to continue investing in technology.”
