Madrid Spain. - Within the framework of the FITUR Fair, the Ministry of Tourism together with ProMiches announced new projects for the development of the Miches tourist hub, which reach more than 735 million dollars between public and private investments.

The announcement was made during a breakfast to attract investment for the Miches destination , where they presented the advances, both in terms of territorial planning and public investment and private projects that are already being carried out in the area.

The environment of the Fair is the ideal place to position the country as a safe and stable destination for investment.

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, stressed that the Government is creating all the necessary infrastructure for Miches to become a successful tourist destination.

“In this administration, we have designed a Management Plan for Miches and through the Executing Committee for Infrastructure in Tourist Areas (CEIZTUR) and INAPA, we have managed to build the necessary roads, access to the beach and the aqueduct in Miches to guarantee that hotel developments have the public infrastructure necessary for their operational success,” the official said.

The private organization in charge of promoting the development of Miches, ProMiches , presented the different investments, where 3 hotels already in operation and several more in the process of being built stand out.

"Among the different private projects we will have more than 3,700 hotel rooms and almost 2,000 residential rooms, within the projects in operation and under construction," said Yamil Isaías, president of ProMiches .

For its part, Banco del Reservas reported that more than half of the rooms under construction in Miches are being financed by said institution.

“The tourism development of Miches includes, in the long term, the commissioning of 3,756 hotel rooms. Of that total, through projects already approved by our institution, 2,020 rooms will be enabled, more than half of that total”, reported Samuel Pereyra, administrator of Banreservas.

The Dominican Government signed a collaboration agreement with ProMiches in 2022 for joint investment work regarding the development of this tourist pole and it was revalidated on the occasion of the International Tourism Fair, FITUR 2023 , which was held in this city of Madrid. It takes place from January 18 to 22.

During the celebration of this investment breakfast, different investors presented their projects. Among them, we can mention the ZEMI project, by investor Frank Elías Rainieri, which will have a total of 534 hotel rooms and 1,000 residential rooms in its first stage.

Likewise, the Viva Wyndham Group project, with 487 hotel rooms, presented by Rafael Blanco Canto ; that of Grupo Tropicalia , represented by William Phelan, and the project of Grupo Maralda, with 690 hotel rooms and 800 residential ones.

The event was a clear demonstration that the commitment to Miches by the Dominican Republic is a reality and it was reported that joint public and private efforts will continue so that this destination can achieve its development in the shortest possible time.
