Ecuador: Ministry of Energy and Mines adds 320 MW to supply the energy demand in the country

This reestablishment of electricity production was possible thanks to the implementation of an Emergency Plan for the Repair and Supervision of the Generation System, led by the Minister of Energy and Mines, Fernando Santos Alvite, and the Vice Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Enith Carrión. .

This Plan includes the acquisition of spare parts and supplies for the generation plants, management and optimization of logistics and fuel dispatch, executing a renovation and rehabilitation strategy for the thermoelectric park, intensifying monitoring of the electrical system, management with Colombia and Peru. to consolidate energy imports.

At the end of December 2022, the operation of the Minas de Huascachaca Wind Power Plant began, with 40 MW, located in the Ecuadorian Austro; its total capacity of 50 MW will be available from next month.
