Ecuador's Riobamba to tender US$34mn sanitation works

The municipality of Riobamba, a city in central Ecuador, plans to launch a tender for sanitation works involving US$33.6mn in the coming weeks.

Mayor Napoleón Cadena told a press conference that the work involves construction of an interceptor, a wastewater treatment plant with state-of-the-art technology and a collector with its respective treatment unit.

According to Cadena, the idea is to award the contract by the end of the year, helping to provide a definitive solution to the pollution of the Chibunga river.
