EDP and Hapvida NotreDame Intermédica sign partnership for solar energy generation

In a pioneering initiative in the health sector in Brazil, Hapvida NotreDame Intermédica, the largest health and dentistry group in Brazil, and the EDP group, one of the global leaders in renewable energies, signed a 15-year contract for the self-production of 30 ,50 MWac of solar energy, which should supply around 85% of the energy demand of the NotreDame Intermédica units in the coming years. In addition to the self-production contract, EDP and Hapvida NotreDame Intermédica signed a partnership for the migration of the health group's units to the free energy market and for the supply of energy to these units until the start of operation of the solar plant, from from 2024.

“In total, 64 units, included in the self-production structure, were part of the operator's regulated market migration”, reinforces Amoroso Lima. EDP is also building five Distributed Generation solar plants that will supply 55% of Hapvida NotreDame Intermédica units that operate at low voltage.
