El Salvador's 1st tier III datacenter set to start operations in November

El Salvador's first tier III datacenter, owned by Codisa and real estate group Aristos and located at Altius Tech Park in Arce city, La Libertad, is 55% complete and will start operations in November.

The unit is part of the companies' Data Trust franchise and its first phase demanded US$22mn, while US$8mn has been earmarked for an expansion, local newspaper El Mundo reported.

At the start of construction, representatives from Codisa and Aristos told BNamericas that total investment could reach US$80mn over three years.

The 1,500m2 datacenter will have capacity for 322 cabinets and space for 20,000 servers. 

Codisa offers IT services and software development in 14 Latin American countries. In Costa Rica, it owns three datacenters.
