IN BRIEF: Paraguay shores up transmission grid

Paraguay's state power company Ande put into service the last of four transformers at the Encarnación substation in southern department Itapúa amid growing demand.

The expansion to 120MVA aims to improve supply to some 60,000 users, Ande said in a statement. The new Scada-controlled units were installed under a financing project with EBY, the JV that operates the Yacyretá hydroelectric dam on the border with Argentina.
