Panama grants month's second solar license

Panama's authorities granted a provisional license for a solar power generation project in Los Ángeles, Los Santos province.

The planned 9.52MW photovoltaic (PV) park belongs to SDR Energy Solar Panama Venture, information from public services regulator Asep reveals.

The developer filed the latest license request in June and now has 12 months to submit required documents to secure the definitive concession.

The documents are detailed transmission or distribution connection information; a map describing required rights of way or acquisitions; an authenticated copy of the EIS approval resolution from environment authority Anam; an authenticated copy of the approved EIS; and authorization from state transmission company Etesa.

Earlier this month, Asep granted a provisional license for a PV project in Chiriquí province.
