The energy reform approved this week by Mexico's senate "sets the bases" for a new era of development and well-being and will make the country more competitive, President Enrique Peña Nieto said Thursday on Twitter.
This week Mexico's senate approved the secondary legislation governing the energy reform. It is now waiting to be signed into law.
He tweeted: "A more competitive and prosperous Mexico. The bases are set for a new era of development and well-being for Mexican families.
"Today we take a big step for Mexicans' future. We will better take advantage of our energy resources and in a more sustainable way. We will produce clean energy and at low cost, as well as well-paid jobs, and we will guarantee the protection of our environment."
