Peru flagship natural gas pipeline draws two bids

Peru's private investment promotion agency ProInversión received offers from two of three prequalified groups for natural gas pipeline concession Gasoducto Sur Peruano.

The bidders were Gasoducto Sur Peruano (Odebrecht-Enagás) and Gasoducto Peruano del Sur (GDF Suez-Sempra-Techint-TGI), according to the agency.

Energy Transfer did not submit a proposal. Awarding is scheduled to take place by June 30.

The US$3.6bn project comprises a 1,000km, 32-inch diameter system divided into three stretches.

Potential offtakers are thermoelectric and petrochemical plants, among other users. The concession includes an option to transport liquids, such as ethane.
