Eletrobras teams up with Google Cloud to accelerate digital transformation

Eletrobras announces Google Cloud as a cloud partner to accelerate the company's transformation journey. With the initiative, which includes the migration of the group's technology infrastructure to Google's cloud, Eletrobras will make intensive use of data and artificial intelligence solutions to meet some of the main challenges of the segment, such as in the areas of asset management of transmission and generation, energy trading and corporate sustainability management.

As part of the agreement, Eletrobras will migrate a large part of its infrastructure and applications from its private cloud to Google's cloud, gaining more efficiency and scale. In addition, the modernization will enable a more holistic data analytics strategy based on data from all Eletrobras information sources, bringing better insights and in a shorter period of time for business decision-making.

This smart technology base also opens up possibilities for using artificial intelligence and machine learning to help the company achieve its efficiency and expansion goals. Among the possibilities are the development of indicators for risk reduction, optimization of maintenance, innovation projects in operations, management of current assets and planning for the implementation of new assets.

Eletrobras also wants to explore artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to accelerate clean and sustainable energy projects, such as the generation of insights for responsible optimization of the chain of generation, transmission and commercialization of renewable energy.
