EP Petroecuador declared Force Majeure in the Eden Yuturi Field - Block 12

This June 3, 2021, EP Petroecuador declared Force Majeure in the Eden Yuturi Field , belonging to Block 12, located in the province of Orellana, and the areas of direct influence, in order to implement an Operational Logistics Contingency Plan.

This Declaration is due to the high risk of damage to which the company's workers are exposed, as well as the strategic facilities of the State and the level of national oil production.

Since May 10, there has been a stoppage in the vicinity of the field , by the El Edén Kichwa community, which has prevented the entry and exit of officials, the supply of food and supplies necessary for the operation of Block 12, in addition to the control and operation of other facilities.

Likewise, within the Declaration an Operational Logistics Contingency Plan is implemented, to carry out preventive maintenance to the equipment of the different PADs (production islands in Spanish), to avoid damages and possible effects on the environment.

The term of this Declaration of Force Majeure is subject to the termination of the de facto measures taken by the community , in order to have the technical and operational conditions that allow normal activities to be reestablished. The contractor companies will be notified, as stipulated in the contractual instruments, regarding Force Majeure events or Act of God, their subsequent contractual effects and, additionally, all the governing bodies and control entities.
