IDB approves US$400mn loan for Costa Rican ports and roads
The Costa Rican government is planning a series of road and port infrastructure projects following the approval of a US$400mn loan from the IDB and a US$50mn loan from the China Co-financing Fund for Latin America, according to a release from the IDB.
Some 110km of roads will be paved and repaired while 400m of breakwater in ports will be built and repaired.
The loan will also be used to design a master plan and rehabilitation program for Caldera port that will extend the port's useful life by 50 years.
The works are designed to improve the movement of persons and goods as well as to strengthen trade and regional integration.
