Peru's customs office Sunat has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) to upgrade technology used at border checkpoints.

The equipment includes narcotics and explosives detection devices and mobile x-ray equipment.

Jamaica's government is seeking a provider of consultancy services to design secure WAN communication backbone infrastructure.

The government is seeking to design scalable IP based WAN infrastructure with security controls that protect shared services from unauthorized access, use or disruption. It is also seeking to develop standards for operation of the Jamaican government's enterprise network.

Bidding documents in English are available for download on the government procurement website (www.gojep.gov.jm). Bids should be submitted by July 12.

Colombia' s comptroller general has received an IDB loan to design and implement an IT project aimed at improving the quality, efficiency and transparency of processes.

The project is budgeted to cost some 1.2bn pesos (US$400,000) and will be executed over a three-month period.
