BEIJING, April 27, 2020 / PRNewswire / - JA Solar, a leading manufacturer of high-performance photovoltaic products, announced that it has supplied all 385W PERC Mono 4054 modules for the largest rooftop solar plant in Costa Rica. ICU Medical, a world leader in developing, manufacturing, and marketing innovative medical devices for infusion therapy and critical care applications, invested in the Avolta-built solar power plant. The energy efficiency of the 1.56 MW plant can satisfy 6% of ICU Medical's monthly energy demand, which is equivalent to the electrical energy consumption of 1,000 local homes.
Electricity prices remain high in Costa Rica, but the region has some of the most abundant solar resources in the world. With the continuous development of photovoltaic technology, the installation of photovoltaic systems has become one of the main options for local customers who want to reduce electricity costs. The rooftop solar power plant is equipped with highly efficient JA Solar solar modules, which make full use of abundant solar resources to generate clean energy. The solar project was recognized by the President of Costa Rica, Carlos Alvarado Quesada, and other government officials during his visit to ICU Medical.
"JA Solar remains committed to offering customers around the world high-quality, high-performance photovoltaic products," said Jin Baofang, chairman of the company's board of directors and chief executive officer.
"Costa Rica is at the forefront of global efforts to use renewable energy, and we will continue to work with our partners to offer superior photovoltaic products to customers in that country and other Latin American markets, thereby bringing environmental benefits to local communities," he added.
