Vancouverite Oroco Resource (TSX-V: OCO) closed a non-brokered private placement of 4.77mn units at Cdn$0.25 each for gross proceeds of Cdn$1.19mn (US$1.13mn). Proceeds will be used for exploration drilling intended to extend the southern limits of the resource at the Cerro Prieto gold project in Mexico's Sonora state, expenditures related to the development of the project and general working capital, Oroco said in a statement. *** Vancouver-based Paget Minerals (TSX-V: PGS) has appointed Bernie Zacharias as CFO and David Allman as corporate secretary, effective December 1. Zacharias will replace April Hashimoto, while Allman is taking over for Paul Simpson, both of whom have resigned, Paget said in a statement. Paget has signed an LOI with private firm Sundance Minerals to acquire a 60% interest in four of the latter's gold properties in Sonora, Mexico. *** Canada's Prospero Silver (TSX-V: PSL) has acquired through staking the 6,353ha Santa María property in Mexico. The property covers a new target zone in the western portion of the Santa María del Oro gold-silver district in Durango state, Prospero reported in a release. *** Vancouver's Golden Alliance Resources (TSX-V: GLL) announced a non-brokered private placement of up to 6.67mn units at Cdn$0.15 each for proceeds of up to Cdn$1mn. Proceeds will be used to advance exploration projects in Peru, specifically the completion of an environmental impact assessment (EIA) and related community relations activities to obtain a drilling permit on the Río Tabaconas gold project, general working capital and business development, Golden said in a statement. The company also announced that it has cancelled a private placement that was announced on October 17. *** Vancouverite Batero Gold (TSX-V: BAT) closed a previously announced private placement with Canaccord Genuity and issued 3.45mn units at Cdn$2.10 each for gross proceeds of Cdn$7.25mn. Net proceeds are intended for exploration of the Batero-Quinchía gold project in Colombia and general working capital purposes, the firm said in a statement.
