Junior exploration roundup: GoldQuest, Camino, U3O8, Alba Minerals

Vancouver-based GoldQuest Mining announced highlights of exploration drilling at its Tireo gold-silver-copper-zinc project in the Dominican Republic.

The work at the property's Cachimbo target included sub intervals of 5.05m of 8.4g/t gold and 20.3m 1.74g/t gold, according to a statement. An expanded 2018 drill program will be announced shortly, GoldQuest said.

Camino Minerals reported results for the final three diamond drill holes completed as part of the 2017 drill program on the Adriana Zone at its Los Chapitos project in Peru.

Highlights include 1.68% copper over 7.60m, according to a company statement. Proposed work for 2018 will include additional step out drilling to test the extensions of the Adriana Zone to the northwest and southeast toward the Katty Zone.

Toronto's U3O8 announced the start of geophysical test work on its Laguna Salada uranium-vanadium project in Chubut, Argentina.

Exploration elsewhere on the property has shown that channels contain higher-grade uranium-vanadium mineralization that could further improve the positive economics of the deposit, according to a statement.

The project's preliminary economic assessment calculates production at 1Mlb/y (454t/y) during the first four years before averaging 600,000lb/y over the life of the mine, while vanadium would average 800,000-1.2Mlb/y, the company said earlier.

Vancouver's Alba Minerals released exploration details at its Quiron II lithium project in Salta, Argentina.

Contractor Conhydro carried out a geophysical survey at the 2,421ha property, and identified a probable brine aquifer, the company said in a statement.

Furthermore, the survey indicates that the Quiron II brine aquifer is contiguous with that under the Salar de Pocitos to the west, the company said.
