Latin America hydrocarbons roundup

Bolivia's state hydrocarbons company YPFB will implement a shift system of 14 days on and 14 days off – versus the current 21/7 – for inspectors who work in production fields, as part of efforts to reduce costs amid the oil price slump.

In a statement, the NOC said the measure comes into effect immediately and aims to reduce the monthly inspection cost by 34%.

Peru's hydrocarbons licensing authority Perupetro awarded Schlumberger Surenco a contract to determine the potential and contracting conditions of Amazon block 192 which Pacific Stratus Energy operates under a temporary contract that expires August 2017.

Paraguay's state oil company Petropar, and Itaipu technology park-based renewable energy center CIBiogás, inked a cooperation agreement this month to evaluate the bioenergy potential of ethanol, as part of Petropar's energy efficiency project at the company's Mauricio José Troche industrial plant.
