Lázaro Cárdenas Port reports a 35% increase in cargo movement-TEUs in April

Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, May 20, 2024.- For the fourth month of the year, the Lázaro Cárdenas Portregistered 10% more cargo movement-total tons with a total of 10,321,982 and an increase of 35% in cargo movement-TEUs with 711,148 compared to the same period of the previous year.

In containerized cargo, 31% more was recorded compared to April 2023, moving a total of 4,140,789 tons. This increase continues to represent the efficiency of the port, the work to reduce waiting times and increase productivity in service with customers.

In automotive cargo, 210,025 units were mobilized, 63% of them imported and 37% exported. The automotive sector is one of the main sectors that continue to highlight Puerto Lázaro Cárdenas due to the large flow of movement that always arrives at its terminals.

Puerto Lázaro Cárdenas is characterized by its geographical location and its depth of more than 16 meters, which allows it to receive ships with great draft and cargo capacity. In this area, the port had a growth of 6%, receiving 549 vessels, highlighting the port's infrastructure.
