Monte Plata Solar park generation to increase to 60 MW

This CNE release was published using machine translation.
anto Domingo, DN. March 17, 2020. The National Energy Commission (CNE) and the Electronic JRC company agreed this Tuesday to extend the generation power of the "Parque Monte Plata Solar" project in its second phase to 60 megawatts, which will positively affect injection to the National Interconnected Electric System (SENI) for clean energy.
The expansion or "Addendum-Amendment" was signed at CNE facilities by Mr. Ángel Canó, Executive Director of CNE, representing the Dominican State and by Alfonso Rodríguez Villalba, CEO of SOVENTIX, the construction company of the solar park and represents Electronic JRC in the country.
With the signing of the agreement, the second stage of the Monte Plata Solar Park, located in the Monte Plata province, is increased to 30 megawatts, for a total power of 60 MW.
"With the signing of this contract the company has the doors open to achieve an installed capacity of 60 megawatts and obviously this will be a great contribution to the national electricity sector," said Canó.
He added that with the expansion of the Monte Plata Solar power, the generation matrix in the Dominican Republic and the contribution of renewable energy to the electricity system are increased.
“The signing of this contract will allow this renewable photovoltaic energy project to be expanded to its design power. We have been working with the CNE to achieve this goal and we are very grateful. We hope to start the work this year, "said Rodríguez Villalba.
