
More than USD 100 million has been invested by the Ecuadorian National Government in electrical infrastructure

With the purpose of improving the living conditions of citizens, providing greater road safety and promoting economic development throughout the country, the National Government, through the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Electricity Distribution Companies, has allocated up to To date, more than USD 100 million in electrical works benefiting 2.1 million Ecuadorians.

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Xavier Vera Grunauer, highlighted that, in the provinces of Pichincha, Imbabura, Cotopaxi, Tungurahua, Chimborazo, Azuay, Carchi, Loja, Bolívar and Cañar, more than USD 57 million have been invested for the development of electrification projects that have benefited around 319,000 residents of the area. In addition, the Electric Companies met citizen requirements such as: installation of new meters, billing support, technical support and maintenance that, among other actions, promote the quality of service and the progress of the places served throughout Ecuador.
“Having comprehensive services, in terms of electricity, contributes to development, security and improvement in the quality of life of citizens, that is why we promote new electricity generation projects that contribute to the revitalization of the economy and at the same time are friendly with the environment”, emphasized Minister Vera.
This State Portfolio, through the 10 Electric Distribution Companies nationwide, works 365 days a year to guarantee citizens a safe, reliable and quality electric power service.
