Nicaragua relaunches bidding for waterworks solar project

Nicaragua’s state water utility Enacal has issued a second call to build a solar photovoltaic array with installed nominal capacity of 15MW.

BNamericas previously reported that the original process was cancelled due to an issue related to energy storage.

Enacal envisions installing the plant in Malpaisillo in the municipality of Larreynaga, León department. The reference budget for the 18-month project is US$18.4mn.

Proposals are due by August 2, according to procurement information available here using number 12023 (click on ‘Búsqueda Avanzada’ and place the number in the ‘Número de Adquisición’ box).

The project falls under a program to improve and expand potable water and sanitation systems financed by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration.
