Ocyan, a company in the oil and gas sector, announces today (11/28) the change in command of the company as of January 2023. Roberto Prisco Paraiso Ramos will assume leadership of Ocyan for the second time, after eight years. The current president, Roberto Bischoff, will leave his duties at the end of 2022 to pursue a new challenge at another Novonor Group company, after spending more than three years at the head of the business. The transition phase will take place in December.
In his career as CEO of Ocyan, Roberto Bischoff achieved historical milestones in financial, operational, safety, compliance, well-being and reputation. In addition, under his management, the company resumed MSO (Offshore Maintenance and Services) and subsea construction activities, increasing the workforce from 2,200 to 4,200. Bischoff also externally signed his commitments to the ESG agenda, focusing on energy transition and diversity and inclusion, assuming a prominent position in the sector's innovation ecosystem, based on the creation of a vice-presidency for Innovation and New Business.
In replacement, Roberto Prisco Paraiso Ramos, currently a member of Ocyan's board of directors, will take over the company's management in 2023. Graduated in mechanical engineering from UFRJ, with a postgraduate degree in Management Development Program from Harvard Business School, in addition to master's degree from University of Leicester, in England, Ramos returns to the presidency of Ocyan, occupied by him between 2010 and 2014. Over the last 7 years, the executive has been contributing as an adviser to the company, being a member of the Finance committee and coordinator of the Strategy Committee and Innovation.
Roberto Prisco Paraiso Ramos arrives at Ocyan with the challenge of continuing the company's strategic planning, moving forward with the ESG agenda and processes of digital transformation, innovation and new businesses linked to the energy transition.
Ocyan is Novonor's arm in the oil and gas market. The company offers solutions for the entire exploration chain of the upstream offshore oil and gas industry in Brazil and abroad. It currently has five drilling rigs, two FPSOs (floating, production, storage and offloading) from its own fleet in the Altera&Ocyan joint venture (50/50), in addition to operating two other FPSOs. All vessels have active contracts and high performance. Ocyan also operates in equipment maintenance and installation projects and in the decommissioning of underwater structures in the oil and gas industry.
The company is headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, with operational bases in Macaé (RJ), Santos (SP) and Itajaí (SC), in addition to an office in Vienna, Austria.
