Odata secures certifications for US$75mn Mexican datacenter

Brazilian datacenter firm Odata, which has just been acquired by Aligned Data Centers, secured three key project certifications for its newly launched US$75mn datacenter in Querétaro, Mexico, a company spokesperson told BNamericas.
The ISO 9001, ISO 20000-1 and ISO 27001 certificates were obtained for the QR01 site after external auditing by TÜV Rheinland.
The three certifications relate to the core colocation services, including solution design, physical infrastructure management, capacity management, asset management, provisioning, network management and datacenter communications delivery.
ISO 9001 refers to the quality management system, ISO 20000-1 to the information technology services management system, and ISO 27001 to the information management and security system.
The project began in 2022 under the management of Karin Romero, Odata's LatAm process coordinator, and Diland Cruz, responsible for the integrated management system in Mexico.
Cruz will also be responsible for disseminating the standards for obtaining certifications at the company's second site in Querétaro, QR02, currently under construction.
New processes and best practices for quality management, including policies and KPIs and a business continuity plan, were adopted to obtain the certifications.
These same practices and processes are being applied in Brazil and Colombia, where the company also has datacenters.
In 2022, Odata secured ISO 14001 certification for its datacenters and offices in Hortolândia and São Paulo in Brazil and Bogotá in Colombia. This certification refers to good practices in environmental management.
Odata now plans to “expand the scope” of ISO 9001, 20000-1 and 27001 certifications for its ST01 datacenter in Chilean capital Santiago, in a process expected to be completed by March.
The company also intends to initiate projects to implement good practices in environmental management (ISO 14001), in addition to ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety management system) and 22301 (business continuity management) for all its sites in Latin America, betting on a zero-waste policy.
Currently, Odata has three datacenters operating in Brazil, one in Colombia, one in Mexico and one in Chile, and four more under construction in the same countries.
