
Paraguay launches tender for operation of Asunción bus system

The Vice Ministry of Transportation launched its first national and international tender this year "for the provision of the Metropolitan Public Passenger Transport Service by Bus, in the Asunción Metropolitan Area."
The call is made in five lots, covering the cities of Asunción (capital), Itá, Mariano R. Alonso, Fernando de la Mora and Lambaré.
The lots up for bid are as follows:
1 – Line 420, Zonal Entity No. 7 (Itá – Asunción).
2 – Line 35, Zonal Entity No. 2 (Mariano R. Alonso, Bº San Blas – Asunción).
3 – Line 10, Zonal Entity No. 4 (Fernando de la Mora – Asunción).
4 – Line 40, Zonal Entity No. 2 (Mariano R. Alonso, Bº Santa Librada – Asunción).
5 – Line 8, Zonal Entity No. 6 (Lambaré – Asunción).
All legally constituted national and international passenger transport companies that have acquired the Bidding Terms and Conditions (PBC) and that meet the requirements established therein may participate in this call.
PBC requests, whose cost is G. 5,000,000 non-reimbursable, must be addressed to the Cabinet of the Vice Ministry of Transportation (GVMT) under the Ministry of Public Works and Communications ( MOPC ), located at Oliva No. 411 esq. Alberdi, Asuncion.
The payment and withdrawal of the aforementioned document can be made on business days from January 23 to January 27, 2023, from 07:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., from the premises of the Vice Ministry of Transportation, Presidente Hayes Nº 410 almost Dr. Cayo Romero Pereira, Asunción.
The interested party must submit a note addressed to the Vice Minister of Transportation, indicating the company name of the firm, address, telephone number and name of the legal representative, as well as the constitution of the company authenticated by a notary.
RECEPTION AND OPENING OF OFFERS
Bids will be received at the MOPC headquarters (Oliva No. 411 esq. Alberdi) until 09:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Subsequently, the envelopes will be opened at 10:00 a.m. at the premises of the GVMT, located at Presidente Hayes Nº 410 almost Dr. Cayo Romero Pereira, Asunción, before the officials designated by the Cabinet of the Vice-Ministry and bidders who are present
