PDVSA restarts El Palito operations

Venezuela's state oil company PDVSA has restarted crude oil processing at its El Palito refinery in Carabobo state after the facility was taken offline earlier this week due to a circuit failure. The plant is expected to resume full operations by the weekend, PDVSA said in a press release. The refinery has a capacity to process 140,000b/d. This is the second refinery accident to be reported by PDVSA within recent days. Last week, the NOC was forced to suspend hydroprocessing activities at the nearby Amuay refinery after an explosion at the site. The Amuay refinery, which is part of the Paraguaná refining complex (CRP) in Falcón state, is PDVSA's biggest single facility with capacity to produce over 500,000b/d.
