Peru modifies Iquitos-grid link bidding timetable

Peru has modified the bidding timetable for the planned transmission connection of the Iquitos isolated system to the national SEIN grid. The deadline to pay the participation fee and submit qualification documents for the Moyobamba-Iquitos project was extended to April 19, according to state private investment promotion agency ProInversión. Qualifiers will be announced April 30 and offers due the following month. Consolidated bidding rules will be released April 26 and the final contract version April 30. The 220kV, 500km line will span the northern regions of San Martín and Loreto with estimated investment pegged at US$330mn.
