The Ministry of Energy and Mines announced that, in compliance with its attributions, it will work to bridge positions between the communities of Cotabambas, the State and the Las Bambas mining company, to keep active the space for dialogue created to reach agreed actions for the benefit of the population.

In accordance with the government's position, the MINEM ratifies its commitment to work in favor of the population, and calls on the communities to continue betting on dialogue as the optimal tool to overcome differences and reach beneficial agreements for all parties. .

He added that the enabled Working Group will allow initiatives to work in favor of the Fuerabamba, Chila, Choaquere, Chuicuni, Pumamarca and Huancuire communities, through the thematic axes of legal physical sanitation, education, employment, community enterprise, entrepreneurs, vulnerable groups , agriculture-environment and health.

In the meeting held yesterday in the Fuerabamba community, the dialogue process was suspended due to disagreements between the population and the Las Bambas company, and given this scenario, the MINEM seeks to find points of agreement between the parties so that the joint work started be resumed

In the working subgroup of the Chuicuni community, the MINEM reported that, through dialogue, it has been possible to obtain scholarships for technical education, food for schoolchildren, educational kits in the first 30 days of work, which confirms the importance to make consensus possible

The MINEM specifies that the Working Group, created by Ministerial Resolution No. 182-2022-PCM, does not prohibit addressing new agendas in each community, and that they can be evaluated and discussed, so it is important that the population and the sector have points of consensus to work towards a common agenda.
