Petrobras cancels offshore vessel contract

Brazil's state-run oil company Petrobras has terminated a contract with Norway's Havila Shipping for an offshore supply vessel.
The Havila Fortress vessel had been contracted to Petrobras until July, the Oslo-listed company said in a statement on Tuesday.
"The contract was blocked by local tonnage and the certificate needed for operation in Brazil was not renewed," Havila said.
Foreign-flagged vessels can be barred from operating in Brazilian waters – regardless of contractual obligations – if there is an available local ship built to the same specifications.
