Petrobras extends deadline of R$20 million public notice for startups
This is a machine translation of Petrobras' original press release
Petrobras has extended registration for the 4th call for the Startups Module , of the Petrobras Connections for Innovation Program, which would close on Wednesday (29/6), to next Sunday (3/7). In the total amount of R$ 20 million, the public notice brings 30 challenges distributed in seven technological verticals: robotics, carbon reduction, digital technologies, energy storage and generation, corrosion, geological modeling and inspection technologies.
The public notice aims to obtain solutions for 30 different challenges and, at the end of the selection, the winning companies receive values according to the degree of complexity of the challenges. They can be up to BRL 500,000 and up to BRL 1.5 million, depending on the category: Soft Tech for startups that develop software-based technologies, eventually integrated with already mature hardware platforms and Deep Tech for those that develop advanced research-intensive technology, with greater effort for maturation, including those based on hardware, high-performance software and new materials.
During the program, the selected companies receive technical guidance from specialists from Petrobras and from Sebrae, the company's partner in the public notice, which offers support to startups, from guidance for the physical-financial execution of projects to support actions to increase the competitiveness and the development of business models.
The Startups Module, from the Petrobras Connections for Innovation program, emerged from Petrobras' interest in strengthening its relationship with the innovation ecosystem, specifically with startups and small technology-based companies. The investment aims to meet demands mapped internally in the company and the agile development of solutions with the possibility of implementation in the oil and gas industry. In the last three years, R$36 million was invested in this module.
Connections for Innovation
Since its launch, the Petrobras Connections for Innovation Program has already housed eight different modules: Startups, Open Lab, Residents, Technological Partnerships, Technology Transfer, Solution Acquisition, Ignition and Technological Orders. All aim to accelerate innovation, connecting the company with the entire ecosystem, from startups, ICTs, universities to companies. Petrobras currently has a portfolio of more than R$3 billion under contract, with more than 150 technological partners, in the various types of contracting and cooperation agreements.
