Petrobras to add 180,000boe/d to Campos yield

Brazil's federal energy major Petrobras (NYSE: PBR) will add 180,000boe/d to its offshore production capacity when the P-58 platform arrives in the Campos basin in the coming days.

The floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit is en route to the Parque das Baleias field following final construction work at the Honório Bicalho shipyard in Brazil's south, Petrobras said in a statement.

"The expectation is that it will arrive in six to eight days depending on the sea conditions," the Rio de Janeiro-based firm said.

The platform will operate in waters with a depth of 1,400m, 85km off the coast of Espírito Santo state in Brazil's southeast.

It will be connected to 15 production wells, of which eight are pre-salt and seven post salt.

Meanwhile, Petrobras' SS-88 drill support vessel has left China's Dalian shipyard and is expected to arrive in Brazil next month.

The semi-submersible unit will operate alongside the P-61 production vessel in the Papa Terra field, also in the Campos basin.
