Eight port concessions on Colombia's Magdalena river have been prepared, local newspaper Portafolio reported, citing river corporation Cormagdalena.
The projects will require total investment of US$1.3bn and involve building and refurbishment works to facilitate the handling of different types of cargo.
Three are earmarked for Gamarra, one for Tamalameque, one for La Gloria, two for Barrancabermeja and one for Bocas de Ceniza.
In related news, on December 11 an order for Magdalena river dredging works to begin is due to be signed.
