Rio de Janeiro state is readying a public-private partnership (PPP) tender for the repair, operation and maintenance of road tunnels.
Authorities have put the project – involving 16 tunnels in the state's namesake capital – out for public consultation as part of the process.
The project portfolio comprises single-bore tunnels and double-bore tunnels ranging from 182m to 2,040m in length, according to a procurement notice.
Interested parties can submit questions about the project until January 30. The city will base its decision on the size of the payment requested, the notice said.
Studies for the project were carried out by a consortium comprising local engineering companies Trana Construções, EIT Engenharia, Engebrás and York Engenharia.
