Empresa Portuaria Valparaíso (EPV) reported the start of the process of providing background information to the market regarding the future of Terminal 2, whose current concession ends in March 2027. The measure seeks to ensure the operational continuity of the port and keep open the long-term development options of the local port system.

The port of Valparaíso is facing a key stage for its future development, which is why it needs to have modern, efficient infrastructure that is ready to respond to the growth of foreign trade. In this context, the transition of Terminal 2 is a central element for maintaining operational efficiency and the competitiveness of the regional logistics and port system.

In this context, EPV defined solutions for the operational continuity of Terminal 2 for the period after the end of the current concession, which it is already working on: a possible extension of the current contract or the carrying out of a new tender, consultations that are awaiting a decision by the competent authorities.

Beyond short-term projections, Puerto Valparaíso maintains as a strategic objective moving toward an integrated port model that will allow Valparaíso to be projected under a concession scheme that strengthens its development and creates more attractive conditions for investment.

While pending decisions are awaited, EPV chose to bring forward the release of information to the market, with the aim of keeping open the option of a future tender, fostering conditions of transparency, competition, and proper preparation of potential interested parties.

The company reiterated that its focus is on prioritizing an efficient transition aligned with a long-term development vision for the port system of Valparaíso.
