Quito advances on water treatment plant modernization
Quito’s public water and sanitation company Epmaps will launch a tender this month for the US$7mn expansion of the Bellavista potable water plant, CEO Otón Zevallos said during a contract signing ceremony related to another plant.
Works are part of the 2020-40 investment plan, supported by multilaterals like the Inter-American Development Bank. They are also part of contingency measures in case the Cotopaxi volcano erupts.
New infrastructure priorities for Quito will be defined after the local elections next month.
