São Paulo, January 5, 2023 – Terra Fibra, Vivo’s ultra-speed internet franchise model to bring optical fiber to more locations in the country through franchisees, is completing four years of operation and closes 2022 launching its 30th city, Vargem Grande do Sul, in São Paulo. In the last year, the number of customers served by Terra Fibra franchises increased by more than 50% and nine new municipalities were included in the portfolio of operations - Duque de Caxias, in RJ, and Casa Branca, Vargem Grande Paulista, Aguaí, São Pedro, Santa Cruz das Palmeiras, Santa Rita do Passa Quatro, Rio das Pedras, Vargem Grande do Sul in SP.

The network of franchisees grew in 2022 and has four companies that work in partnership in the expansion of units across the country. In all, franchisees cover more than 500,000 households in the cities where they operate, a growth of 31% compared to the previous year. The model is present in five Brazilian states (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul and Tocantins). For 2023, Terra Fibra will continue investing to expand the ultra-speed offer in Brazil.

Terra Fibra Business – In this model, Telefônica (owner of the Vivo and Terra brands) franchises its brand and experience in the expansion of fiber broadband, expanding its capillarity through franchisees, enabling the offer of quality internet to small operations. The focus of the project is to operate in cities or strategic neighborhoods in large urban centers where Vivo is not present, taking advantage of the strength of the brand and the mobile telephony park.

As a franchisor, Vivo offers all the technical knowledge in the implementation of a fiber network, and experience in the commercialization of its products and services. The franchisee is our local partner who uses all the company's technical capacity, as well as the strength of Vivo Fibra's brand and quality. In addition to marketing the products, the franchisee is responsible for all business management and maintaining the quality of services for its customers. The choice of Terra to lead this expansion was due to the power and relationship that the brand has had with the internet and technology for over twenty years.
