Venezuela's Termozulia III ready end-2014

Advancement of Venezuela's 450MW Termozulia III combined cycle project reaches 70%, state news agency AVN reported. The news followed an inspection of power plants and substations in Zulia state by Latin American development bank CAF which is helping finance the project. Completion of the additional capacity at the General Rafael Urdaneta thermo complex is expected by end-2014, the report quoted state power company Corpoelec official Alberto Pérez as saying. In a separate announcement, the power ministry said the city of Maracaibo in Zulia will host a first Venezuela rational and efficient energy use, and renewable energy congress October 30-November 1.
