YPFB Energía do Brasil is created
UCOM-MH-31-08-2019.- “We want to announce that our new company YPFB Energía do Brasil Ltda. Already has authorization from the ANP to operate in Brazilian territory to carry out natural gas loading activities and is therefore enabled to participate in the public call to reserve transportation capacity in the TBG. With this step we consolidate the internationalization of YPFB, whose main purpose is to participate in marketing activities, to be a partner in petrochemical and thermoelectric projects, ”said the Minister of Hydrocarbons, Luis Alberto Sánchez.
Brazil is a strategic market for the state oil company, a market that is currently undergoing structural changes that allow a set of opportunities for YPFB, so the state oil company has been advancing in several agreements, both for the commercialization of Bolivian gas as well as the sale of derivative products, such as urea and LPG.
“With this authorization, our company will be able to participate in the public call of TBG (gas pipeline that carries Bolivian gas on the Brazilian side) and be able to reach gas distributors and final consumers. We have a competitive gas compared to other gas suppliers in Brazil, so the opportunities are quite large. We are working to continue improving the efficiency of the company and continue to guarantee income for the country, ”said the minister.
It should be remembered that, during the Week of Hydrocarbons, developed in the city of Santa Cruz, YPFB was able to sign the contract for the purchase and sale of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for a volume of up to 72,000 MT / year, volume greater than which is exported to Paraguay, being one of the most important contracts.
Likewise, YPFB was selected like Shell, Petrobras, Total, Golar and Repsol for the third stage of the public call for the acquisition of a volume in the order of 10 million m3 / day by Compagas, GasBrasiliano, MSGás, SCGás and Sulgás. The five distributors serve more than 134,000 natural gas consumers and have more than 4,400 km of distribution networks in 161 municipalities.
“Brazil is a very large market, its demand is constantly growing. Therefore, it was important that YPFB begin to compete in this market, through the sale of natural gas, to open a market for LPG, urea and other derivatives. We are strategic partners and we will continue working in that direction, in Brazil and in other countries such as Peru, Paraguay and Argentina, ”concluded Sánchez.
