Description: The project "Adaptations in ballast tanks, internal roads and camps", as the name implies, consists of the execution of adjustments to some operations and installations of the Operational Continuity Project, specifically with respect to the deposition of ballast, the treatment of roads internal and camp infrastructure, all corresponding to project modifications that will be developed within the CMCC site. Such adjustments will not generate significant environmental effects, mainly due to the fact that they do not imply expanding the mining works or their reserves; they do not increase the useful life; they do not increase the extraction of water; they do not increase labor; the level of efficiency in the abatement of atmospheric emissions of the roads is maintained, and no sites of interest to the communities are affected (because they do not generate new stockpiles or dumps outside the current industrial area). In addition, as noted above, the adjustments do not imply an increase in the mine movement (annual maximum of 95.3 million tons of ore and ballast), nor the capacity for mineral processing at any stage of the mining process ( crushing and leaching capacity of 60,000 t / day of ore), with respect to that approved in the CMCC Operational Continuity project. Nor does it imply modifying the generation of debris, the production of copper cathodes or the requirement of inputs, including water. All these operational aspects are maintained within what was approved for the Operational Continuity Project through the RCA N ° 69/2015. It should also be noted that this Project does not modify the extension, depth or geometry of the pit, so the mining operation itself (extraction of ore and sterile) is not modified and is not part of this Project. Objective The objective of the Project is composed of three aspects: (i) granting flexibility to the deposit of ballast, through the extension of the Lastre Sur dump, to opt for the deposit in the sectors that are closest to the exploitation phases of the pit, without this implying increasing the total amount of ballast deposited; (ii) avoid the risk of accidents in the downhill sections of roads, due to the sloughing and slipping experienced by mining truck tires when bischofite (and other similar products) is applied to the road surface, which will replace this product with water, maintaining the global efficiency of 80% of abatement of emissions of particulate material; and (iii) modify the type of work with which the intramural environments will be extended, maintaining the coverage of the same zones of transit and permanence of people of the original project.
