Description: Currently, Bío Bío Cementos SA- Planta Teno is authorized to use, in its Clinker furnace, various fuels, both fossil fuels and liquid alternative fuels. The plant is located on Route 5 South at kilometer 173.6 in the commune of Teno. This project considers diversifying the matrix of fuels currently used in the Clinker furnace, by adding solid alternative fuels (CAS) that are presented as an alternative to traditional fuels available in the country, with the additional benefit of generating energy recovery of waste, through the process of coprocessing. The Alternative Solid Fuels (CAS) that are planned to be coprocessed are of three categories: Biomass: Of forestry, agricultural or agroindustrial origin; Tires: Both whole, previously cut or pyrolysis product, and; Fuel Derivative Waste (CDR): The CDR is a fuel made in third-party facilities specially designed for it, where from carefully selected industrial waste, and subjected to a process of size reduction, mixing and homogenization, a product of specific physical and chemical characteristics. In relation to the permanent facilities required for the implementation of this project, for the incorporation of the CAS into the cement production process, the construction of some facilities is required, which are described below: A warehouse for reception and collection dry biomass, broken tires and CDR A biomass dryer equipment, which will have a wet biomass receiving hopper A dry biomass storage field, next to the biomass dryer A process feed box with dosing equipment, tape Conveyor and seal and safety valves for the entry of CAS into the calciner. Two whole tire storage courts A whole tire lifting system and oven feeding. The activities contemplated for the addition of fuel derived from pyrolysis of tires to the Clinker furnace do not contemplate the implementation of new facilities, since they will be incorporated into the cement production process through the use of the machinery and equipment currently existing in the plant. Objective The objective of the project is to deepen the practices of circular economy in the Teno plant through the expansion and complementation of the Clinker furnace fuel matrix through the incorporation by coprocessing technique of solid alternative fuels (for its acronym, called CAS).
