Cardenilla Mine Operational Closure

Description: Operational Closure of the Cardenilla Mine Mining development projects over 5,000 tons / month The Project "Operational Closure of the Cardenilla Mine", which is submitted to an environmental evaluation through this Environmental Impact Study (EIA), corresponds to a modification of the Cardenilla Mine Project (RCA No. 242 / 2008). Currently, the Cardenilla Mine Project is in a total stoppage of its mining extractive activity and its associated facilities are not operating. This Project considers the following works or parts: - Construction of Contour Channels for the Open-Pit and existing Dumps. - Construction of a Household and Hazardous Waste Warehouse, and Patio de Rises. - Closure of existing facilities at the Cardenilla Mine. - Obtaining permits for Cardenilla Dump and El Zorro Dump. The project that is submitted to environmental evaluation through this Environmental Impact Study (EIA) corresponds to a Modification of the “Cardenilla Mine” Project. The Cardenilla Mine Project has the following environmental authorization: - Exempt Resolution No. 242/2008 “Cardenilla Mine Project”. The modifications included in the project object of this EIA are: - Construction of Contour Channels for the Open-Pit and existing landfills. - Definition of Activities and Closure Measures for the Cardenilla Mine - Construction of a Household and Hazardous Waste Warehouse, and Patio de Rises. - Obtaining the sectoral environmental permit to establish the Cardenilla Sterile Dump and the Curva del Zorro Waste Dump. The details of the previously individualized modifications are detailed in Table 1-2 of this Chapter. The general objective of this Project is to obtain a favorable environmental rating for the operational closure of the Cardenilla Mine.
