Catemu Plant Operational Optimization

Description: Catemu Plant Operational Optimization Mining development projects over 5,000 tons / month The Project is located in the former Santa Rosa de Catemu farm, located in the Catemu commune, San Felipe province, Valparaíso Region. The objective of the Project is to extend and give operational continuity to the Catemu Plant, considering all those works annexed to the operation that have undergone modifications, as well as new works and facilities that will allow maintaining the production rate of the plant and extending its useful life by 5 years. Catemu Plant produces high purity copper cathodes by processing soluble copper minerals by heap leaching, solvent extraction and electrowinning of cathodes, as of July 5, 2007. This activity has operated in progressive growth, which has generated that the Amalia Catemu Plant has presented new projects to the environmental authority, obtaining, therefore, four favorable Environmental Qualification Resolutions, two of them were granted by COREMA, Valparaíso Region, and two by the Environmental Assessment Commission of Valparaiso.
